Turkey is home to various types of available properties. Thanks to the activities of both local and foreign real estate developers, there are numerous properties to purchase and sell. 

Due to the increasing demand for property in the country, there has been a significant increase in developments. This is why all locations in the Mediterranean country come with numerous property selections.

Types of properties to find in Turkey

Broadly speaking, properties in Turkey are grouped into new real estate developments and resale/old real estate properties. Under these two primary property types, there are various types of developments. 

Apart from this classification, Turkish properties can be categorized as residential, commercial, and land.

Residential properties

Residential properties in Turkey feature various types of houses that are commonly sold in the market. Many residential properties are developed in complexes and large urban developments. Many residential properties in Turkey are part of a multistory apartment building. Furthermore, you can classify residential properties under various categories:

Old Apartments

An old apartment is used to describe a building that is more than 20 years old. This is a low-budget property that is easily affordable by anybody. 

Studio apartments

These are usually smaller residential apartments of about 60 square metres or less. This type of property features a single bedroom that connects to a living room, bathroom, and kitchen. It is great for single users such as single workers and bachelors.

Duplexes

A duplex is a 2-floor residential building that comes with an internal staircase. A duplex can be anything between a 2-bedroom apartment (2+1) and a 6-bedroom apartment (6+1). It can also come with more bedrooms. This type of property is most preferred by large families. It is also less costly than standalone private villas.

Penthouses

Penthouse apartments are also common in Turkey. These types of residential properties can be found on the upper floor of many multistory buildings or skyscrapers. They usually occupy the whole surface area of the building. Penthouses usually come with an outdoor terrace area. They are also known to be expensive and luxurious apartment styles. Many penthouses come with private swimming pools, heated infinity pools, and so on.

Townhouses

A Townhouse is usually described as a small villa that is built adjacent to another building on the same property. It usually features a unifying architectural space layout. A small garden is usually used to connect the detached villa from the inside.

Twin houses

These are two villas that are partially connected. The villas are built with a similar design to give both villas are identical look. However, each villa is separate as they both have distinct entrances and are shared by two different families.

Villas

A private villa is a fully separate mansion. A villa can be a two-, three-, or four-storey building. Many villas come with private gardens and may have private swimming pools. They are also surrounded by perimeter fences. You can find private villas in various prestigious neighbourhoods in Turkey. Villas are also part of many mega residential developments. Villas are very expensive in Turkey, and so are in relatively low demand.

Lands

Investing in Turkish lands is a guaranteed way to be a property owner. This type of investment is also safe in the country. Lands can be divided into:
Residential lands: This type of land is reserved for building houses.
Agricultural lands: This type of land is used for agriculture.
Public lands: This type of land is usually the property of the public.

Commercial properties

In Turkey, commercial properties are mainly used for businesses and other profitable ventures. They are mainly large corporate complexes which can be in the form of tall skyscrapers. 

Commercial properties usually feature offices, shopping malls, stores, shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and medical and educational buildings.
